My advice is to create a Google Business profile and a Facebook page, and link your website to both. By creating interesting and original content, you will organically draw traffic to your website from major search engines. For more information, check out my Search Engine Optimization page. I also recommend Michael Bluejay's article, "How to Get Good Search Engine Rankings." For further advice, check out this PDF guide.

For example, if you're trying to decide between "MartinsOneStopShopHandymanService.com" or "SacramentoHandyman.com" go with the latter. If you're a local business and not targeting the entire country, it's good to put the city in your domain name.
