I'm not sure what to put on my website. Help!
Take a look at competitors’ websites and look at how they organize and arrange their websites. Pretend you’re a customer and think about what you’d expect to find on your website. This page has some more detailed guidelines about what website pages typically have on them.
How does the website design process work?
We’ll have a conversation about your project and if it seems like a good fit for both of us, I’ll show you how to register a domain name and set up web-hosting. Then we’ll plan an outline for the site and you’ll send me some content (text and photos) for the website. Using this material, I’ll put together a preview of your new website. We’ll go over the rough draft together, make any changes you need, and then I’ll launch the website for you. For more information, check out my website design process page.
How can I look at statistics for who's visiting my website?
After logging into your CPanel, click on the AWStats icon and you’ll be able to look at your website statistics. Here’s a video that will walk you through that process.

We provide technical support for the hosting, website editor, domain name, e-mail, and CPanel. If you get stuck, we can help you! But we prefer to show clients how to manage their own websites.
Will my College Web Pro website be mobile-friendly?
Yes, all websites are fully responsive. This means that they change depending on the size of the screen displaying them. All websites are optimized for phones, tablets, and PCs.
How long does the website design process take?
After I receive all content for the website, it will take me about 7-10 days to come up with a rough draft for you to review. The whole process, from start to finish, usually takes about 2 weeks. Some of it depends on how fast you can supply the website content.
Where is College Web Pro physically located?
We’re based in New York City, also known as “the city that never sleeps.” That’s why the technical support is so good!
Will I be able to see the website before you launch it?
Yes, I’ll show you a preview of the website before I publish it. You’ll have the opportunity to make changes to the website before it’s visible to the general public.
How do I make sure my site shows up on Google?
As Bill Gates once wrote, “content is king.” That said, there are many things that you can do to get your website to rank highly on Google. My advice is to create a Google Business profile and a Facebook page, and link your website to both. You can drive traffic to your website by using a mailing list, social media, and offline promotional methods. By creating interesting and original content, you will organically draw traffic to your website from major search engines. For more information, check out my Search Engine Optimization page. I also recommend Michael Bluejay’s article, “How to Get Good Search Engine Rankings.” For further advice, check out this PDF guide.
How do I access the CPanel for my website?
To access the CPanel for your website, go to http://www.yourcompany.com/cpanel — except you want to replace “yourcompany.com” with your actual domain name. Then it will prompt you for login information. You can find this CPanel login information in the “Welcome to College Web Pro” e-mail that you received when you first set up an account.
How do I access my College Web Pro Client account?
Click the “Client Login” link at the top of this website. You can reset your password by clicking on the “Forgot Password?” button.
How do I choose a domain name?
Keep it short! It should not be longer than 25 characters maximum. It does not matter how you capitalize the name — you can still capitalize it however you want in your marketing material. If you can, try to include the search terms that you’re targeting in your domain name. For example, if you’re trying to decide between “MartinsOneStopShopHandymanService.com” or “SacramentoHandyman.com” go with the latter. If you’re a local business and not targeting the entire country, it’s good to put the city in your domain name.
How do I transfer a domain name to College Web Pro?
First, you should contact the company that you originally used to register the domain name (e.g. GoDaddy, Vista Print, Simple Site). Ask them to unlock the domain name and send you the Transfer Code. Then contact College Web Pro and I’ll put in the transfer for you.
How long does the domain last?
Domains renew automatically on a yearly basis unless you cancel them.
How do I connect a domain name registered somewhere else to College Web Pro?
I created a video to show you how to link a domain name that you registered somewhere else to College Web Pro. You do this by pointing the domain name nameservers to College Web Pro. The nameservers for College Web Pro are ns1.collegewebpro.com and ns2.collegewebpro.com. For example, if you registered a domain name with GoDaddy and you’d like to get this GoDaddy domain name to work with College Web Pro, you need to log in to your GoDaddy account then set the nameservers for the domain name to “ns1.collegewebpro.com and “ns2.collegewebpro.com” — it can take up to 24 hours for your domain name to connect to College Web Pro. You’ll know it’s working when you try to access your website and you see the College Web Pro “Coming Soon” page.
